Program Note
Where the Evergreens Grow takes inspiration from my childhood in Washington State. It’s a time I look back on fondly, and a place that will forever hold those memories, lost somewhere between the forests and the falls. The first movement seeks to capture a spirit of adventure, propelled by fearlessness and a never-ending curiosity. The second movement is inspired by the endless universe of the imagination as seen through the eyes of a child. Peaceful contemplation draws us in and in the search for these imagined worlds, we ultimately end up finding ourselves.
