Memory of a Place Beyond Time (2025)

Program Note

I find the sound of the classical guitar evokes something ancient, a feeling of being in touch with something that is anthropological in a way. It feels as if communicating with a genetic memory of ritual, dance and community, the bedrock of cultures throughout the world and a practice which has close ties to plucked instruments dating back thousands of years. Memory of a Place Beyond Time draws from this inspiration by incorporating techniques and sound worlds from different cultures and who have their roots in popular tradition.
